I have been very impressed with the work that James Roberts has done with some of my horses. His patience and skill are a credit to the Parelli system. It proved to me it can be very beneficial to performance horses.

Before I met James, I struggled for several years shoeing horses that were a challenge! Since spending time with James, and learning why horses could be difficult to shoe, and of course how to prepare a nervous horse to be shod, and being able to help the owner prepare their horses for me, my career as a farrier has never been easier, and my back has never felt better at the end of the day. More importantly, it is a better experience for the horses I shoe.

I was fortunate enough to have my young horse, Mido, started by James Roberts at the end of 2007.

Mido is an extreme and very sensitive horse. Two professionals had deemed him dangerous and too unpredictable to ever be a safe ride.

That start with James was just fantastic and the best money I have ever spent. Everything else in Mido’s development has been so easy - no brace, no worries, nothing but a very willing partner. I have continued his development through the Parelli Programme, and attended clinics with James whenever possible, but I am in absolutely no doubt that that start really WAS everything.

I can thoroughly recommend having a horse started by James. It is the best start for any young horse.

I am happy to be contacted if you would like any further information.

Polo is notoriously a very stressful sport for horses and the way in which they are kept in vast numbers means they are often lacking individual attention. Therefore their mental and emotional welfare is seldom paid much attention to.

However in my stables I have slowly been teaching Parelli to all my grooms and they now have a good basic understanding of the first five games. They apply their Parelli attitudes both in the stable and in the saddle which means the horses are consistently treated in a savvy way.

Thanks to James my polo ponies are now all exercised daily in natural hackamores using different Parelli patterns as a foundation for their training and fitness regimes. They are happier and looking and performing better than ever before.

I have been with Event Horses for forty years and believe in all the basic principles of training horses correctly in all three phases. If patience and understanding are applied to most problems I have usually, but not always, succeeded! Recently, however, I have had the privilege of watching James and Victoria working young horses using the Parelli method. My own horse is particularly spooky so they have been helping me with him, and it has been wonderful to see him gain in confidence and do things I would never have dreamt he would do. He is frightened of stepping over a pole at home - although happy to jump fences under saddle - but with the Parelli method he even walks over large expanses of blue plastic without any hesitation. Likewise I have watched James and Victoria with other much more difficult horses (particularly nappy ones) and their successes are outstanding. I could not recommend them more highly in whatever walk of life a horse is destined. I shall continue to use them throughout my present horse's career.
